Celebrating 5+ years of Shalom Zones in the Midsouth

On November 6, 2015, the Center for Transforming Communities hosted an evening of celebration recognizing the 5th anniversary of several of the Midsouth Shalom Zones. In 2010, CTC assisted with the formation of four Shalom Zones: The Mason Caregivers, The Corners of Highland Heights, the Us Making It Happen Shalom Zone, and the South Memphis Shalom Zone. The evening also celebrated the legacy of shalom in the Binghampton neighborhood, where one of Memphis’ first Shalom Zones was established in 1999.

Members of the Shalom Zone teams and other long-time friends and supporters of CTC attended the event. At the end of the evening’s festivities, attendees read aloud a statement recommitting themselves to seeking shalom in their communities. You can share in the spirit of the evening by watching this video and considering how you are called to be part of God’s shalom in the world.
