Amy Honored with Inaugural Henry Varnell Prize
On Tuesday, November 29, CTC's Executive Director, Amy Moritz, attended a reception celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Hyde Family Foundations. There, she was awarded with the first ever Henry Varnell Prize in Servant Leadership, a prize established to recognize "an exceptional non-profit or faith-based leader who best exemplifies the civic-driven values Mr. Varnell modeled over the course of his lifetime.”
This award was particularly meaningful not only because it was such a public recognition of Amy's work in Memphis, but also because Henry and his wife, Jeanne, have been longtime supporters of CTC and partners in our mission. In fact, Henry was one of CTC's founding leaders, and his vision for Memphis continues to guide CTC to this day. (Henry passed away late last year, and his many contributions to CTC and the city of Memphis were recognized during the 5th anniversary celebration of the Shalom Zones.)
Congratulations Amy!
