Rev. James Lawson encourages Young Adults
Rev. James Lawson has been one of the leading voices for Civil Rights and social justice in the world for more than five decades. He was also one of the visionaries behind the Communities of Shalom movement. In April, Rev. Lawson visited Memphis as part of a week of events commemorating the 50th anniversary of the death of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. While in Memphis, Rev. Lawson requested to meet with young community leaders working through Communities of Shalom. We convened a group of youth and young adults from the Shalom Zones for dinner and conversation, and afterwards they shared their thoughts about the experience.
